Hey, maybe you can help me de-crapify my P22. While firing, the safety engages, sometimes only takes one shot, sometimes take 3 or 4 shots, but will always engage on its own. Also, If the safety is not fully engaged, sometimes pulling the trigger a few times will disengage the safety allowing the gun to be fired. I've heard a few guys sent there's back for a replacement, but I'd rather do my own work!

Can anyone help?

I'd send it back.  You will void any kind of factory defect by trying to fix on your own.  Plus Walther stands by their equipment.  I sent mine back for feed problems, and they fixed for free, and threw in a new mag for my trouble.

Have you seen this thread on RFC?

There's a decent Walther forum over there.

That link looks like the exact problem I am having, but unfortunatley, the link to the fix page is an Error 404 (Not Found)

Could you do me a favor and sum up what the fix was?

Thanks!

I've asked for a new url, so we'll see what happens.

Ok, try this one...  P22 Fixes

FWIW, I haven't tried any of these mods.  I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.  MY P22 shot fine right out of the box.  (After a good cleaning.)

Awesome, next free minute I'll try it out and let everyone know!  Thanks for the updated URL!

I actually have two P22's one shoots perfect 99% of the time, the other has problems.

I also am having a problem with bullets not firing on first try with this same gun.  Even when it will stay firmly on fire (with some duct tape) every 1 out of 30 shells wont fire the first try.  On close examination, the unfired shell has half the impact dent from the firing pin, as previously fired shells.  Once reloaded into chamber, the shell fires perfectly.  Ever heard of that?

Thanks for your help!  I love the P22, just wish it worked a little better!
