| Will decocking the hammer while the gun is field stripped hurt the gun? I have done this a few times. |

Decocking is GTG. However, it is not recommended to drop the hammer by means of the trigger and let drop full force on any gun. I have done this a few times. Is my gun OK? It's not good to have the hammer go forward full force against a bare frame. The same goes for AR's when the upper is removed. In your case it shouldn't be a problem if it was only a "few" times. I just wouldn't make a common practice of it. |
