Anyone have anything good, bad or other to say about the Charles Daly 1911s?  I have an opportunity to pick one up brand new for around $450 and trying to find out of these have a decent reputation or not and if this is a good price.  Thanks!

Soon to be followed by the post, "Having problems feeding / extracting in Daly .45"

Seriously, stay away.  These tiny 1911s are troublesome even for Kimber, Colt, etc. to get running right.  The odds are stacked against Charlie D.

Good gun if you want to have to tweak the heck out of it to get it to run well.  I bought mine with that in mind.  Cheapest offcers size I could get at the time for the money.  I ended up replacing just about everything.  I could not get the ejector out so that stayed, and the barrel and guide rod stayed.  I had to polish and clean up a lot of the pistol to get her to run well.  I still do not have her at 100 yet.  I will though.  Is a great little project pistol which is what I bought it for.  It is a precursor to a build that I have in mind.  hope I was of some help.  Good luck

Aim straight and have fun

Thanks guys.  Advice taken.  I'll be hitting the local gun show in a few weeks in search of good SA 1911's.
