I will be recieving my CCW permit soon, and I want to find a good mouse gun.  I have been looking at the kel-tec .380s and kahr pm9s.  What  are some other good mouse guns out there?  I have a SA 1911A1 and a Glock21 already.  But I was looking for a mouse gun for those days of not wanting to carry a full size.  Thanks again, Mad.

I have one of those little Beretta .32 Tomcats.  It works reliably, but I rarely carry it because I'm afraid it won't do the job if I ever need it to.

For light carry I like the Sig P232.  I have a PPK/S but the Sig has been more reliable.

Either the Kahr PM Series as highlighted by SGB above or my preferred favorite, the S&W Airweight or Scandium .38 snub. I am not a big fan of the .32 or .380, but either is better than a stern look and a harsh word!

+1 for the keltec,

I am currently looking to buy a Taurus 851 protector in titanium it is 38sp.  I like the idea of a little more power, but you'll want to carry the keltec more

SGB, I was advised by LE friends that the Kahr was a good choice for CCW. I bought an MK9 w/ matte stainless slide, and proceeded to shoot it with 200 rounds of Corbon +P 9mm, which is what I always shoot from my nines. I like to practice with what ammo I carry , as expensive as that sounds, it gives me confidence my in my CCWs.

As I was cleaning after the shoot, I notice a large crack in the slide, between the hole for the op-rod retainer and the hole for the barrel, effectively connecting both openings in the slide itself. The split was full thickness, all the way through the steel. I promptly brought it back, and the shop I bought it from said I could have a new Kahr or get a full refund, whatever I wanted. Basically they said if the crack opened up and split apart, I would have ended up with the slide in my forehead.

I had lost confidence in the Kahrs after that, the slide that cracked did not seem to be of robust manufacture, quite thin steel where it cracked, so I bought a larger SIG P239.

I'm sure they make good stuff, everyone seems to say so, I guess I just got the faulty slide.
I would sure check the slide for cracks whn shooting +P ammo with it, they are very lightweight little pistols. Too bad though, it was so compact and handy, and a great, reliable and accurate shooter once I got used to the DAO.

I generally carry a North American Arms (NAA) "Guardian" in .32ACP and like mine.  It's similar to Seecamp.  IMHO either one has a better reputation than the Kel-Tec's.

If you want to go tiny, I also like the NAA Mini-Mag SA revolvers in .22MAG.

Ruger SP-101, S&W K-frame (or similar models from Taurus) are some possibilities if you would consider a DA revolver.

IMHO a revolver would probably be a little more reliable than a semi-auto for a pocket pistol.  However, the DA revolvers mentioned are on the large end for a mouse gun.

I carry a Kahr PM9. My first one had some issues with it, and Kahr reluctantly replaced the whole gun with a new one. So far its been great. Kahr is coming out with a .45 that will weigh 17oz. I believe they are going to show it at the Shot show this year.

Hmm, that PM40 looks nice, this will be my tax return purchase next year, and I will have my CCW back by the end of next month.  _DR, can you tell more about you defect?

I like my Taurus PT140. Good smooth DAO trigger and a light carry gun. the slide is a bit blocky but not too bad.

I've got a P40 with around 500 rounds thru it with no problems.
