| When I push the mag release, the mag does not drop free. I have to physically pull it out. It this normal for High powers? |

redeyefry, Yes this is normal. The magazine safety is keeping the mag from coming out. Mine only pops out about a 1/2 inch or so. Also if the grips are on too tight it won't pop out at all. Especially with my Pachmayrs or Uncle Mikes rubber grips. Some guys have the magazine safety removed so it pops all of the way out. Removing the safety might help lighten/smooth out the trigger pull too. Hope this helps. Steve88GT |
| I had mine removed and it did help the trigger pull and feel.Mags drop right out and I have Pachmayr combat grips. If you are comfortable take it out or have it done. Some gunsmiths don't like to do it because of liabilitys.I think there is a post on how to do it on 1911forums.com under Browning pistols.Do a search and a bunch of thing come up.Also Browning started putting a spring on the floor plates to eject the mag out. good luck! |
I removed mine with the help of the directions over there. There is a HiPower forum there. |
