I apparently my G19 has one. Is there any reason to be concerned about this or is the talk about MIM parts paranoia. I have MIM parts on my Springfield 1911 and I haven't had any problems.
I vote for: shoot it and see before worrying about anything. Every Glock pistol I own has a newer extractor, they all seem to have performed perfectly for thousands of rounds; those of us with no problems find little reason to complain online. If the paranoia is too much, just make sure the extractor fits in the extractor cut-out of the slide without binding or undue friction and then go shoot it.
The previous extractor was an investment casting. The new version is MiM. Glock NEVER used a machined/forged extractor in their guns. Anyone who says the extractor used to be a "machined" part is wrong. Do a little research on MiM vs Investment casting technology, and decide for yourself which process has the potential to produce the superior part.
