So I have a Kimber with the standard Kimber magazine. The gun is awesome, but the magazine seems to really suck. However, I am new to the platform, so maybe its just me. The two big issues I have are:

1. The magazine spring seems SUPER STIFF, as in it is a real struggle to put in more than 4 rounds by hand. I havent had this problem with other handgun mags (Springfield XD and Glock 19 magazines). Is this common for single stack mags?

2. The follower will sometimes get stuck, the last round will come out but the follower doesnt spring up to the top. some light manipulation of the mag will usually release it, but im afraid that this will lead to feeding issues.

Thats about it, let me know what you think or if im just being a noob. Im considering getting a Wilson Combat mag, but I wanted to learn about these Kimber mag issues first.

Never had that issue with my Kimber mag.  Use 95% of the time Wilson, McCormick . . . try another mag - sounds like that one has issues.

May try breaking it down and having a look as well.

Try the kimber pro tac mags. These are 10 steps above the "stock" mags that come with the gun. I found them for $18 on the armory.com, this is a smoking price considering they normally sell for $30-$35.

definitely not the norm, I never use the stock mags my Kimbers came with.  I only use Wilson's or Chips.  Here is a pretty good article regarding 1911 mags.  Good luck.

Try the Kimber Tac Mag, much better than the standard GI style that ships with most of the guns from the factory.  It has the upgraded follower, spring, mag body, and comes with different butt plates/bumpers so you can choose if you want it to fit flush or stick out some.
