Hi,
Can't help you on where to buy them but if you have found real elephant ivory for between $110-$150 I think that is a pretty reasonable price. Nice ivory can go for well over 200 and barked elephant ivory even higher. Ivory sure is pretty but if you do a lot of shooting be careful it is prone to cracking. Bark ivory especially. That's been my experience anyway. |

I have 4 sets of tusks that my father brought back from his hunts in Africa and India years ago...
Sooner or later I will sell those things and laugh all the way to the bank! Ivory is almost better than gold it seems. Let's not even talk about the Black Rhino horn I have which is used in Asia for a sexual stimulis.... |

Totally agree. Just ask James what color he has available to work with. Some people like a slight "caramel" color while others like an off white or a bright white. He can and will if you wish take your grip medallions and "tap" the grips and place them in. Also make sure to specify straight cut or bevel cut bottom, MSH cutout or not, Ambi cutout or not and checkering or not, including a double diamond. |

I am wondering if stabalized mastadon ivory could work...or if it is possible to stablize it enough to work.....

haha no, for some reason they ground it up and snort it....
The Black Rhino is a very rare animal which I do not think you can even hunt anymore (vs. the white Rhino which is MUCH more common) |

www.gripsandknives.com. These guys have mammoth and walrus ivory, and occasionally giraffe bone and other exotic stuff. Also some very nice wood grips.
