Well anyway.  My first 1911 is a SA trp in stainless.  200 rounds down range with only 1 FTRB.  No other malfs yet.  Ive shot mostly Independant, WWB, and Blazer Brass with a few WWB hollowpoints.  The trigger is in the mid 4lb range.  One of my stock mags is a bit out of spec as it wont eject properly.  With two stock mags and two WC 47d's, I have had no problems with feeding or the slide locking back. There is virtually no play in the slide and barrel when locked up.

It shoots about 3 to 4 in. low at 10 yards, so Ill be sending it back to SA when Ive shot it a bit more to make sure nothing else is wrong.

And now for pics:

With the exception of the sighting issue, I am very happy so far.

First off, sweet blaster.  I've got a warm spot for SA 'cause it's my first 1911 too (still have it although he's been HEAVILY modified).

As for the sighting issue, if it's just vertical and not windage, since it's just shooting low, you can fix this yourself by taking a file to the top of the front sight post.

Just a suggestion.

I would have to file into the tritium lamp at it sits pretty high in the front sight.  Ill have to get it replaced.

This is probably the most common problem I have heard of with SpringFields. You think it would have been cured by now.

NOT knocking SA, my 1911 wil be an SA when I get one(hopefully in the NEAR future), it just seems weird this problem keeps popping up

I know, over 5 of them that Ive owned all but one have shot entirely to low (from 95-06 production). The one I just bought a 5in LW is there now getting "lifted".  Oh well, sweet piece you got there.
