Wife and I inherited her grandfather's P230SL (yes, 230, not 232 ) after he passed away, and by the date code it's a '93. Not only that, it's marked "made in w. germany" on the slide.

although we'll probably not get rid of it since it has sentimental value as well as practical, i was just curious if the west-germany marked sigs are really all that rare at all, or if it's a fairly common thing. i just thought it was nifty is all.

little sucker's got some snappy recoil though, good golly. definitely took me by surprise since it's a .380!

**edited to add: is $475 + tax a good price on a factory refurbished 2-tone p229 with 2 mags and night sights?

i had a p232 and yeah the recoil is a bit snappy. the p232 is still made in germany but i don't think mine had a w out front. i am surprised that a '93 manufacture pistol would still have the w on it as that was a couple years after the reunification. if you haven't already you might want to think about putting hogue rubber grips on the thing. i found that they really helped the snappiness of the round and the overall comfort of the pistol.

Can't comment on the little gun, but thats a pretty decent price on a P229.
