And even though its not my frist glock i owned a 21 before brifley i traded it, and i,m not new to 9mm as i carrired a Browning Hi-power for years but i,ve carried the 1911a1 colt for a while now and i don,t want to get into the debate of 9mm vs 45 but over all caliber not whithstanding how does the glock stand up as a combat pistol and whats the best load for it when i carried the high power i loaded it with corbon but was given 250rds of 115+P+ golddot.

wish i had gotten a 22 instead.

My Glocks eat everything fed to them.
I like corbons myself. The heavier and hotter the better.

Congrats - it's a great pistol and...there's nothing wrong with the 9mm. I had a G17 and traded it in on a G21 only because the larger pistol fit my hand better.

WWB 9mm 100 rd. value packs from Wal-Mart is the way to go for range fodder. 124 gr. Gold Dot for personal defense.

+1  My Glocks have digested every type of ammo I've ever put in them.

I had a G22, and it was a good gun, but the .40 doesn't really do anything that the 9mm doesn't...except it's margionally larger before expansion.  A good load (gold dots, etc) will perform very well.  The 124 gr loads seem to be the best mixture of speed and penetration.  From what I've read, the 115 grainers don't penetrate as much, even in +p+ variety as the +p 124 grain (both in gold dot).  Now....I'm not saying that the 115 +p+ are a bad round, they aren't....they just don't seem to penetrate as much.  I'm moving to two calibers:  9mm and .45.  I only have one .45, and only see 1911 .45's in my future.  Everything else will be 9mm.  (cheaper to shoot, practice more, higher probability of a hit....a hit is what you need to win a fight, not a big gun.)

My advice is to concentrate on training and practice, not caliber and weapon.

You need to get "Man on Fire" and inspired by Senor Creasy and the G17

I admit it, that movie made me proud of having the Glock
