I am trying to find a good CCW Holster for a Sig P229 that is reasonably comfortable.  I don't want to be limited to just carrying my Kahr PM9.  I would appreciate any help.

Also does anybody know where I can get 9mm mags for one?

May want to try a Milt Sparks VM2 IWB holster for your P229.

Are 229's even worth carrying because they are so thick?  Ive had some say they are very good and others recommend the 239 but I bought what I liked.

Any recomendations that arent in the 3 digit price range?  If they are the best, then they are worth it but I'm kind of on a budget since I'm trying to add to my collection since I dont think people will put a restriction on holsters.

You might try to find an Anderson, made in GA or FL. I picked one up at the last gunshow in Savannah for about 65.00. They are decent. The milt sparks is top notch if you can afford it.

The 229 is a great carry gun but IWB is not comfortable at all. Get a Kydex Paddle holster for the best comfort and good concealibility. Here is my Uncle Mikes which has been in use for 8 years now and holds up great!

Thanks.  I have a Fobus I'm gonna try but it seems to print rather easily.

I use an Alessi one for mine.  Great fit, a bit pricey but worth every penny.

I agree, but then again, I think Fobus is crap.  I guess you get what you pay for.

Fobus is truly  junk and that is why it prints....ditch it! Get a Blade Tech or an Uncle Mikes. Uncle Mikes is a sweet deal because it is really cheep(under $20) and is every bit as good as the Blade Tech($65). I own both and both are very good holsters.

Another vote for VMII.  If I'm wearing loose pants, it is very comfortable.  I have a POS Uncle Mike's OWB for wearing around the house or taking out the trash.  I don't think I could carry OWB with my frame and not print unless I was wearing arctic weather gear.

I wear the VMII with just a baggy t-shirt in the summer and don't print unless the wind is blowing.

I have a Sig 229 that I carry in a VM-II. Its a bit heavy esp. fully loaded but not uncomfortable. Still if you don't mind an OWB then definately get an Alessi. I have one for my Sig 220 and its far and away the best holster that I've ever seen. The fit and finish is even better than Milt Sparks. The Alessi is the most comfortable, stable holster made. You can conceal it under a floppy T-Shirt just about as well as you can the VM-II.
As i'm sure others will tell you the key is a good pistol belt esp. with a heavy gun like a 229.

I ditched the 229 for a 226 and got a nice holster with it.  Thanks for the help.

I CCW with a Comp-Tac CTAC IWB.  Had it for about 2-3 yrs now. It's pretty comfy and has great adjustability.    In the winter sometimes I also use a Dillon LTD under a winter coat.
