Back in the late '80's or early '90's Colt briefly advertised a .357 snubbie that looked just like the Detective Special. Does anyone remember it's name? I want to search out one at the gun shows. All my web research (Google, etc) only comes up with things like the Python and Trooper II. Thanks for any help possible.

It's called a Magnum Carry. They were only made in '99. They were all stainless and looked exactly like the Detective Special and came with factory Hogue grips. I've got one and it's one of my favorite Colt snubbies... and I have several. They are getting harder to come by and increasingly expensive too. They can be had in the $800 and up price range depending on condition. THey are a very good investment too since these Colt revolvers aren't made any more. THey definitely won't ever get any cheaper and will only be worth more money in the years to come.

I bought this one used a few months ago and still haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.  The pic sucks, I forgot about stainless and camera flash.  They are a very nice gun.  It's a shame that they didn't keep making them.
