Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - H&R 900 parts question

Boss handed me a 22LR H&R 900 today to see what I could do with it.
Turns out the mainspring guide rod tip, which was 'nylon' has disintegrated, which is apparently a common failure.
Anyone know where I might find a new tip or mainspring assembly?  All the usual places are out of stock.
If one isn't readily available, I could crank out a Delrin or steel replacement in about 30min.

I don't know where to find one but may I suggest Nylatron for the buffer...it's tough stuff!!!!

I had some Nylatron and some black delrin, I made one out of delrin and it functions fine, it sould long outlast the original nylon piece that explodes.
