I got to handle a HK 45 (not the USP 45) today at the gun store and now I want one so freakin bad.

How do you guys like them? How do they shoot?

They feel good don't they...I've been fighting the urge for quite a while now.

I have both the HK45 and the HK45c and prefer the HK45c as an all-around firearm.  The HK45 is on the large size for CCW and this is where the HK45c shines.  Can't go wrong with the HK45.

would it be unwise to sell off some of my unused Glocks for the HK 45?

I would do it. I traded a G27 for a HK USP 45.

I'm seriously thinking about selling off my first gen 17 and maybe my s&w 58 for a fullsize HK45...

If it will fit your needs, why not?  I would.  As a matter of fact, I sold all of my Glocks, M&Ps, and Sigs towards various H&Ks.  They simply work for me.

I went and held it again today at lunch (good thing I bring poptarts to work, lol) and put a down payment on the HK45 fullsize, now time to sell some of my Glocks

Sweet. I have a HK USP 45, G17, G19OD, Beretta Centurion, AK47 from Henderson Defense and a Bushmaster "Patrolman" M4. Last week I almost bought a M&P 45 in dark earth.......I just could not do it....I see my self buying a HK45c, HK45 or a Colt Commander in the near future......probably all three.

Well, I picked up my HK 45 today, looks like its a US made model. I had to introduce him to the rest of the guys and I am sorry to say he makes my other handguns look like plain janes compared to this beauty. I think I am a HK convert.

Whats next a P30 or HK 45 compact.... or maybe a USP....dang it.

I am very right now.

I held one of these at a local funstore, and I gotta say...it's nice.

I just can't swallow the price. One of these days I might try to find a used one. Until then, I'll just lust after YOUR possessions.

Also, OP,

(even if we all know what they look like).

I have had both. Decided on the HK45C for size. The HK45 mags fit the HK45C so I use the HK45 as back up mags. The HK45 groove for the trigger in the bottom of the trigger guard that can can give you a blister in enough rounds. The HK45C doesn't have the groove, the HK P30 also has the groove so I beveled the edges of it on the P30.
The HK45C can be converted to LEM also. That's the way I like to run it. It's small enough to carry concealed more so than the HK45.

You can't go wrong with the HK45. IMHO, it's one of the best full size guns on the market. Right out of the box, I carved out the center of a silhouette @ 15 yds. That's better than I usually do...

Nice looking gun.  I've only seen one once at a local gun show in San Antonio and I loved the way the grip felt.  Really want to shoot one a few times to see what the trigger action is like.  I wasn't fond of the Springfield XD45 I had for awhile and tend to shoot best with a 1911.
