I recently purchased Magpul's Dynamic handgun, and after watching the video I have changed my grip a little. Keeping my hands higher, and it has really improved my groups. Problem is I am riding the slide release and now my slide is not locking back when the mag is empty. I had this happen with my P2000sk when I first got it, adjusted my grip down and problem solved, however I don't shoot it very well that way.

Any Ideas? I have rather large hands so I know that is the biggest part of the problem. I have a FNP-45, (could not find a HK45) and have no issues with it. But the slide release is smaller on it. I love my HK's and want to find a remedy.

Yeah HKs slide stop is big compared to other guns. I sometimes have that problem to. There really is no good answer that I know of.

Just try and get used to reloading before the mag is empty...like you probably would during an active shoot out(you would never want to be empty, always reload if given that chance)

You should just have to move your thumb down slightly.

I use the high hold, thumbs-forward grip and don't have any issues with the slide release on the USP.  Just float your right thumb off of the gun.

Thanks, I will try floating the thumbs more.

+1, I would actually like to see how people accidently hit the slid stop. I have medium size hands, and with the pistol in my hand aiming forward it is impossible for me to push down the slide stop on either my HK45 or P30, I have to pitch the pistol in my hand to the side a little to access it. I just dont get this issue.

A lot of people (including me) will touch the frame with the support thumb.  Mine touches the USP frame in the accessory rail groove.  Since the strong thumb is stacked on top of the support hand, it has to float off the gun to prevent it from hitting the slide.

I'm 6'6" and my thumb is well past the back of the slide stop on the P2000/30/45. It's not a problem with the USP at all.
