I like the feel, not as abrasive as grip tape, but sticky. I just used the standard pointed tip, 30 watt iron, just be sure to keep the tip clean. Make sure to work in a well ventilated area, the fumes give you one hell of a headache.

Pretty good work man. It has a chia kind of feel, but I actually like it. Hell a Glock chia pet, I bet they would do pretty well.

Final finish is Gun-Kote.First the slide is blasted with aluminum oxide.A black phosphate finish is applied then the Gun-Kote is applied and baked on. |

I like it, myself. I'd like to get rid of the finger grooves on my 21. Any suggestions for a do-it-yourself project?

I took the grooves down with a file, it is a little too easy to get carried away with power tools. I practiced on a mag for 10 minutes and hit the pistol. Slow and steady, don't rush.

Looks a ton better than my 22 I did with a dremal tool. Mine isn't bad, I will get the wife to take some pitcures of it so I can post them in here. My 22 is an old Glock though, but still my duty weapon. I have a 27 I just bought in Nov. I filed the finger groves off of it the other day at the PD on a whim. The other officers like ot of died that I did it??
Heck it isn't pretty, it is a Glock. It feels 100% better without those finger groves though. Used a bench grinder and emery cloth to smooth/touch it up. We all freak out about doing this stuff, but I won't sell my Glocks, they will always be mine, if you plan on keeping yours modify the son beech. BradleyW hats off to ya. |
