is the grip for the 21 really that large compared to the 9's and 40's Glock?

it's a little bigger but the difference in size between the XD9 and 45 is a lot smaller.
Got to a shop and fondle one

My hands aren't small, but they aren't large either.  I have a 21 WITH a hogue grip on it and it feels perfect.  Sure it is big, but it packs a lot of big rounds.

The 21 does have a big grip.  It is comfortable, but it's also hard to conceal.

Purchased a New 21SF last week.I by no means have big hands but I like a big grip. For it to feel comfortable in my hands I had to slide the Houge slip-on over the grip.I have the same on my G22.Even my Lady likes the Big grip.

I had a 21 and really like it as long as I had two hands on the gun.  When shooting with one hand I didn't feel like I had much control over it.  I would definately try to handle one before purchasing it.  If it feels to big try the 21SF, M&P45 or XD45.  They have much smaller grips.

The G21SF is a very nice unit. I have both the 21SF and the 30SF.

Many local Police Departments have been replacing the G22 for the 21SF around here.

Thought that was the girl's......

Anyway,  go try one to see how it feels in your hand.  Also don't forget the 21SF.  Same grip circumference, with a shorter trigger reach.
