Well this is odd. My dad gave me a CW9 for my birthday yesterday. I was planning on buying a dedicated CCW gun soon (1911's really heavy :P) but this beat me to the punch. He bought it a few months ago and has been breaking it in. So far its had about 500 rounds down it and it hasn't jammed at all in the last 250. We guessed the first jams were break-ins.
To be honest I know absolutely nothing about this cool little gun. Whats up about it? Whats the history? What type of ammo does it like? Etc. Anything you know would be helpful. |

It's a dandy dandy gun, ultra top quality and in the kahr mnanual they do state a 200 round break in sometimes needed for the gun to totally smooth out. Yours is doing as it should now. Any 9mm ammo will shoot in your cw, buy the cheapest stuff you can find for range use, Wal-mart seems to have the best prices with tier 100 pak of wwb for around $21. Gooda mmo and works great in the kahrs. A defense round is your choice, theyare all good, most seem to stay in the 124 gran hp line, be they gold dots, corbon, federal . Your gun willshoot +P with ease also. Keep it clean, keep the slide rails greased, keep the striker channel clean, go back through this forum and read some dandy tips by some ofthe owner. There is a kahr lube chart sticky on this forum, which IMO is the best around. enjoy your cw9. it is a dandy gun.. |

Well . . . .
I picked up a new CW9 just a few weeks ago. Wanted something to replace a 5-shot 38 that I carried on those "light days" Been thru 400 trouble free rounds so far - mix of ball and HP's. Ran 100% even thru the 200 round break-in period. Ordered me a Don Hume pancake holster and a single mag carrier. Will carry it as my CCW tomorrow night. |

Hello , congrats on a great gift . I have a CW 9 and so does the wife , we love them . The only ammo I have had trouble with is the Winchester white box "personal protection" . Everything else I have put thru them works great . They will run fine with the Winchester SXZ9 personal protection just not the WWB . Both of mine are extremely accurate , I can't say enough good thins about them . There is a downside though the mags are a bit $$$ , but I only buy factory mags .
Shoot and enjoy . |
