I grew up shooting with my Dad and have only shot a glock 3 or 4 times. Recently I rented the 19 at a range and was pretty happy with it.
Im in the process of my first AR-15 build and would like a handgun. Im pretty sure Im going to apply for my CCW so I want something I can conceal, Im a smaller guy, 5'8'' 150-160. Ive pretty much decided I want the 26 or 19(I will use an extended mag on the 26 for my pinky). Anything I should look for when I go to the gun show this weekend? I know I want a rail if I get the 19 but what should I be warry of? Or should I just get one new from the store for slightly more? Im leaning towards the 19 so that way if I do get my CCW Ill have a reason to get the 26 also. |

The G19 is all around the perfect size I carry a G32 which is the same size as the G19 and I can conceal it fine. I am 6'1" 185cm and weight 145lb 65kg and I can carry a G32 and backup G27 no problem.
As far as the new versus used if you find a smokin deal on a G19 used field strip it and make sure the slide does not have excessive peening, pitting on internal parts and that the pistol is in overall good condition. All 3rd and 4th gen Glocks will have the rail so that should not be much of a concern unless you find a 2nd gen G19 it will not have finger grooves or a rail. You can usually find good deals on brand new Glocks no problem so see what you can find at the gun show if nothing go get a new one. |

Is there example pictures of what it should look like or should not look like? If I field strip it and see a lot of wear, Im not going to buy it anyway. What should a brand new 19 go for? Id need a pretty good deal on a used one, dont think Id want to save $50 or $75 when I could have a brand new one. |

I carry a G19 daily, I've got other guns that I could carry, but none I would trust my life to in the way I trust my Glock. If you happen to be a first responder(.mil(active/retired) EMS, LEO, FF ect) there is a helluva dealfor those guys Unfortunately no, my dad is EMS and was in the Military though, could I somehow get him to buy it for me? Im looking into EMS or LE as a career, Im 23 and just looking into it. |

The application fee is $35 and that will get you a coupon for a $398 small frame Glock. |

I've heard you can have it shipped to a local dealer for $30. After the $30 shipping and paying a transfer fee, you're close to new gun pricing. |

I figured at most Id save $65 with the GSSF program and 2 of the 3 LEO dealers in my area were sold out of the G19 so it would be awhile to get it. Im very happy with my purchase and its my first handgun Ive owned. There still a couple smaller guns Im very interested in for when I get my CPL. Now I just need to finish my AR build. |
