Hello all, I have been checking this site out for a few months (ever since my 21st bday) and I finally made an account. I just bought my first firearm on Wednesday.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/TheLegend07/G19.jpg It was $529.00 OTD. I just took it to the range today and put 150 rounds downrange. I think I fell in love. One thing that sucks is, the range sells firearms and they had a Gen 4 G19 for $519.00 |
| Thanks fellas! Haha, my dad absolutely hates guns but I learned a lot today. There was a 30-something year old couple there and I picked their brains for info/tips and the like. Glocks seem to be pretty common at that range. They had posters and "Team Glock" banners. |

Welcome to the club, Now you need to buy a 1911, and 6 AR-15s (all in various configurations) and about a hundred mags FULL.
Also if you are shooting your pistol and your groups start to open up, remember FOCUS on the FRONT sight, ALIGN the front to rear sight, and PLACE the alighned front and rear sight on the target, but keep your FOCUS on the front sight. Welcome aboard and have a blast. But you may want to put your credit card in a secure place. |

Thanks guys for all the helpful replies. I have two main questions. What is a good range of magazines to have? I have two factory ones and think that four would be ideal. I figured the best place to buy them would be CTD. Also, where do you guys buy ammo? buy magazines til you run out of room! they are expendable and (fairly) inexpensive right now. |

It's enough for my needs right now........but I do plan on picking up at least 2 of the 33 round G18 mags for my 19. |

Congratulations, and Welcome.
My latest firearm purchase is also my first Glock, does this count? Check CDNN Investments online; they are a good source for well-priced factory Glock mags, and often have weekend specials. I got two factory G19 mags for $17.99 each, with $4.99 shipping a month ago; can't beat that with a stick. I got four mags, I want to have at LEAST five; three for plinking and two for duty rounds. Plus, I bought a 33-rounder for shits and giggles. Again, welcome, Sir. |

Great first gun.....Welcome to ARFCOM. Kiss you wallet goodbye. OP, best advise I can give you is stay off this freaking site. I have spent a ridiculous amount of money on guns, gear, and ammo since I discovered Arfcom. Welcome to the addiction ![]() this +1 |

Watch the Equipment Exchange here. You can usually get new 17, or 15 round mags for $15 shipped. WalMart for range ammo, WWB. I carry Federal HSTs though, but that's a little tough to find right now. Congrats on your purchase. I got a Gen 3 19 in 2088 and love it. It goes with me everywhere. I just picked up a G26 to go with it this past Saturday. |

Unfortunately, Ohio does not allow magazines to have a capacity of more than 31 rounds or the item is considered a NFA item or something like that. Maybe someone more versed on Ohio law can comment on this.
I also despise how the G17 mags stick out of the G19, definitely not gonna happen. I did look on the EE for some mags and happened across a gentleman selling 8 factory magazines for $125. I now have 150 rounds ready to go! The only sad part of this story is that now I'm trying to justify buying my girlfriend a G26. It seems to be a common problem though and there's only one cure haha, hopefully I will get well soon |
Oh yeah Happy Belated Birthday
