Excuse the terminology...

While attempting a detailed disassembly, i can not even begin taking the slide apart.
When I attempt to push in the firing pin with the multi tool that comes with the DE, and slide off the back plate on the rear of the slide, nothin happens.
The button or firing pin or what ever it is that needs to be depressed to pull down the back plate of the slide will not go down. I have tried it on fire like its supposed to be aswell as on safe just to check.

Does anyone here know what im talking about or perhaps have any advice? Much thanks to anyone that could help.

There is nothing about trouble shooting this problem in the manual or on Magnum Research's website.

Just do as the instructions say.  I see know reason why yours wouldn't dissasemble like everyone elses.  I have only taken that plate off once so I can't give you exact details and if I had my DE right now I would do it again so I could tell you how, but it's on it's way to a refinisher right now.
The only thing holding that plate in place is the firing pin so press it in far enough so the plate can come off.  Push the tool in and with the tool still in slide the plate down.

You can try looking for dissasembly videos on youtube.

I guess I didnt make it clear enough, the Firing Pin, will NOT in ANYWAY depress by use of the tool provided or any other means. It will NOT go down even a little bit, there for making it impossible to pull down the back plate. I know how to do it, I have seen instructions and watched videos via Magnum Research website and youtube. The weapon functions flawlessly when firing, but will not detail disassemble for what ever reason.

When you try to do this what position is your safety in?  Make sure your safety is off.

I have tried it both with the Selector set to 'Fire' like its supposed to be, aswell as 'Safe' just to make sure.  I cant figure out what would  be keeping it from pushing in, every time ive seen someone do it, it seems like it doesnt take any pressure at all. But I have attempted to force it and it doesnt budge.

If I remember correctly you need to slide the slide back until the notch in the slide is in line with the pin prior to pushing the pin out.

Slide the slide back?  You have to take the slide off the frame.

Just call magnum research already  Leave a message and they will call you back later today.

If the weapon functions the firing pin will go in. Heres a stupid question for you, are you using the smaller diameter side of the tool with the groove in it or the larger side that has serations on it? Make sure that the thing your trying to push the firing pin in with will pass through the hole. That is the only thing i could think of...
That and naturally the slide has to be off the frame and the safety must be in the fire postition.

It functions flawlessly, I just took it out the other day, 50ae no problems, came back and it still wont depress.  And yes, I am using the smaller portion, ive also tried somthing even smaller just to see if I could manage to press it down at all with it, and still wouldnt budge.  Im just going to have to call Magnum Research I guess.  Thanks anyways.

Yup, last night I was organizing paper work and found an extra sheet I didnt notice before that specificly addresses JUST this part of the disassembly. Dont know why my model Desert Eagle differs this way than other peoples??? But anyway instructions are as follows (in a nut shell):

Of coures unload show clear
Remove slide
Place weapon safety lever in the Fire position
Push down the plate plunger with a "punch"
While keeping the plate plunger down, push down on the firing pin with a second "punch"
Then release the plate plunger. While the firing pin is held down, place the weapon on Safe. (This holds the firing pin to the rear)
Now you can slide off the firing pin plate, making sure not to lose the the plunger spring.
Cover the firing pin and place the weapon on Fire, now the pin can be removed.

Basically, I just need to put pressure on the Plate Plunger before pushing down the Firing Pin . As opposed to just pushing down the Firing Pin and sliding off the Firing Pin Plate .

Also for the record, I think they could have came up with a better concept for installing/uninstalling the Plunger Spring....
