I have a Glock 19 and love it. The gun fits my hand perfectly. Are there any plans to make a .45 acp in that same size? I don't understand why this hasn't been done yet like it has with the other two most common calibers, 9mm and .40.  I guess the closest I can get right now would be buying a Glock 30 and putting a Pearce grip extension on it. I haven't shot a Glock .45 in any model yet but have heard great things about the G30.

It has been done. A Glock 36 with a +1 mag extension.

Will the 36 fit 19/23 holsters?

SGocka, that's not what I'm talking about at all. I don't want a slimline pistol and looking over the dimensions of the G36 it appears to be a subcompact not compact.

It is a subcompact, but with the +1 mag extension it's damn near the same size as my 23 and 19.

Smith and Wesson makes one called the M&P45c.  It's pretty much the same size as the G19/23.

It fits perfectly in kydex holsters for the G19. It's a fantastic pistol.

Most of the time, yes.

I bought my G19 first and already had holsters for it. The G36 won't fit correctly in all of them.

My G30 came with the 10rd mags. Perfect IMO. My hands are large so I do not like the flat base plates

When Glock first released the (10x25mm) 29 & (.45ACP) 30, they marketed them as "compacts".

When Glock released the (.45ACP) 36, they changed how they marketed them and started calling the (10x25mm) 29 & (.45ACP) 30 "subcompacts" and the (.45ACP) 36 a slimline "subcompact".

If you measure (length/height) the (10x25mm) 29, (.45ACP) 30 & (.45ACP) 36, they are closer to the size (just slightly smaller than) of the compact sized Glock (9x19mm)19, (.40S&W) 23, (.380ACP) 25, (.357SIG) 32 & (.45GAP) 38 and larger than the subcompact sized Glock (9x19mm) 26, (.40S&W) 27, (.380ACP) 28, (.357SIG) 33 & (.45GAP) 39.
