The funds for a civil suit wasn't as big a deal to me, as here a "good shoot" is immune from civil suit. That's the way it is here, too, but then I was told by an attorney that typically a civil suit is filed concurrently with any criminal proceedings. So you might still incur legal costs associated with a civil suit.
