I don't like the Pak. flat finish that's on my new Springfield 1911 A1. What would be the best way to get it Blued. Will Springfield do it? What about a home kit? Does anyone know a trustworthy place to get it done?

Springfield will do it also Spradlins in Colorado does real nice bluing

In case anyone is interested I got an email from Springfield about Bluing my gun.

Cost to blue a carbon steel 1911-A1 pistol is $100, plus return shipping
and handling of $25 when the work is complete.   Ship the pistol to our
shop by an insured shipper such as UPS or Fed Ex.  Include a letter with
the pistol listing the work you wish to have done, your return shipping
address and daytime contact information.
