What's the deal with the finish on the barrel bushing and spring plug on the parerized loaded 1911's I've seen some pics where they are bright. Maybe stainless, maybe nickle? I just ordered a new one, and they tell me it is all parkerized, bushing and all. Is there any significance to this finish, or is it just something they've changed (or do they vary from gun to gun)?

Some people put them on with a new fitted barrel.  The stainless bushing is fit to the barrel.
Some just put the stainless ones on for the heck of it.

Old police Ju Ju that when the pistol is pointed at a perp, the perp would see the bright stainless, draws the eye to the barrel and less likely that a perp would try something dumb.
