What are folks experience with the BDA  .380acp?

My father is thinking about getting one for home defense, keep in the glove box and just plinking (yes, I know there are better pistols for this (like a glock19), but he really likes the BDA and how it fits his hand, so please, no suggestions for other guns)

Excellent little pistol made by Beretta...same as their M84 (I think that is the model) with a fully enclosed slide. NOt sure if mags will interchange but I never saw one that did not work and work well.

Fantastic handgun. I took my CHL class with a BDA.

Very large for a .380 (fatter than a Browning Hi Power) but one of the few double stack .380's. The Beretta 84 and BDA use the same magazines and a few parts interchange.

He should also look at the Beretta 84:

-"Handfit" is identical.
-It has the benefit of being in current production, unlike the BDA.
-The BDA safety/decocker is slide mounted like almost all Berettas, while the Beretta 84 safety is frame mounted like all Brownings.
-Most importantly-the BDA has the tiny "half moon" front sight as seen on fifty year old Browning Hi Powers. TOO SMALL FOR SERIOUS USE. The 84 has a better designed FS.

The current Beretta 84 is also called the Cheetah.

I have a BDA and love it for plinking. My g26 is muc smaller for CCW but the BDA is a natural pointer and shoots very well.

Just bought a used one a couple months ago. Absolutely love it! Very little recoil, accurate, and 13 shots!

I call it my FN/Browning/Beretta.
