At the doctor's once, I did not know I was going to have to take my shirt off for whatever the hell they strapped on me figuring out some BP issues. Informed the doctor prior to taking my shirt off about the gun so she didn't freak out. She was pro gun, told me they have a policy against guns, I told her I was aware, but it's not illegal. We agreed pocket carry is best at the doctor.

No 1, but if I had been I'd have left and never given them my business again. In a gun free business as I type this, don't care. No force of law here. For no 2, I have had issues with family before. I told them if they didn't want me there, I wouldn't be there. But my gun stays with me. They eventually backed down, but it was annoying drama over nothing. |

Just because you're willing to kill to protect someone's life, doesn't mean they need to be made aware of the mechanics of all that. I agree with @CFletch... If you don't want me there, I'm out (well unless I have a need to be there and you're just in the way) but as Mando says, "Weapons are a part of my religion." (At the office, they're also part of my uniform.) |
|
If they politely ask me to leave, I will politely leave. I am a firm believer in "don't start anything, and there won't be anything". If I ever did get outed and asked to leave, as I'm leaving I would be thinking to myself "I've been thrown out of better places than this!" |

If there is anywhere to tread carefully, its in a department store or large grocery store. In these places aka walmart, target, sam's, you will find loser employees promoted to loser management power trip jobs. There's no telling what fantasy scenarios they might tell any responding LEO'S after seeing you in their store armed. Deep concealment of a mouse gun does have a place. |
|
I was at the grocery store, picking up some milk , imitation crab meat and eggs for breakfast. I was in the checkout line when a man in a security guard uniform came up to me. "Excuse me, sir," he said. "I need to ask you to leave the store." "What?" I asked. "Why?" "Because you're carrying a concealed firearm," he said. I was confused. "I'm allowed to carry a concealed firearm," I said. "I have a permit." "I know," he said. "But the store has a policy against it." I sighed. "Fine," I said. "I'll leave." I put my groceries back on the shelf and walked out of the store. I was annoyed, but I knew that the security guard was just doing his job. As I was walking to my car, I thought about the store's policy. I didn't understand why they would ban concealed carry. It's a legal right, and it's not like I was going to use my gun to rob the store. I decided to write a letter to the store manager. I explained that I was a law-abiding citizen who was simply exercising my right to bear arms. I also pointed out that the store's policy was discriminatory against people who choose to carry concealed firearms. A few weeks later, I received a letter from the store manager. He apologized for the inconvenience and said that the store would be changing its policy to allow concealed carry. I was glad that the store had changed its policy. I think it's important for people to be able to exercise their rights, and I'm glad that the store recognized that. I hope that this story will help to raise awareness of the issue of concealed carry. It's a legal right, and it's important for people to be able to exercise it without fear of discrimination. |
When the left feels that someone isn't letting them practice one of their favorite rights - whatever the circumstances - they riot and loot and leverage the government and media to force everyone else to let them exercise their rights anywhere, and any time. And the conservatives go along with it by saying, "I may not agree with what they're saying, but I'll fight to the death for their right to say it" and "Freedom is scary" and "we should stop opposing because it's going to cost us elections."On the other hand, when someone stops the right from exercising a right, they say, "that fine. You're the boss! As long as you're not the government you can tell me do whatever you want and I'll politely comply." |

1. No 2. No 3. I'd leave and not return. I try to avoid stores with gunbuster signs, they carry no weight of law but if they don't want my money, who am I to argue with them? At work I do deep concealment and don't think I'd ever be made. Off work I really don't care too much about printing yet I have never been called out. Most people are just oblivious, even to open carry, much less a weird bump or lump on the wrist level. |

Lots of 13'ers were abysmally stupid. For context, many 13'ers joined the site after panic buying their first gun right after Sandy Hook. Also for posterity, if you joined in late-December 2012, you are still a 13'er (Sandy Hook was 12/14/2012). |

Good thing is they have a few suits against them for harassing people over not having LTC. Really not a surprise to me as Pro gun as Texas claims to be we have a lot of people against constitutional carry and anything semi automatic with 10+ rounds. |

Yes and no to number 1, I was at a mall with my friends and they had body scanners at half of the escalators and a bunch of cops so it got annoying when I had to take detours with my friends to escalators without scanners. After a while I decided to go back to my car to put my gun away. No to number 2, not many of my friends are big fans of guns, but they're okay with me carrying. |

Disney parks, as well as other places, have begun using these. Concealed is nothing to these. |

Never been asked to leave, don't think I've ever been "made". Only a couple of friends are border line anti-gun (actually the wife in one case), so I just take the gun out of the holster when I go to their place. I do have some relatives who are rabidly anti-gun. I just don't visit with them at their homes so no problems. |

Slightly off topic, but not... Anybody remember that guy that was bum rushed by police at a Manchester, NH Barnes&Noble many, many moons ago? Essentially he was CCW, but inadvertently took his jacket off exposing his weapon, some Karen called the cops. The cops (undercover) cornered him in an aisle and performed a weapon snatch. I don't think he was formally charged, but was cuffed and escorted out of the establishment. I corresponded with him for a while, and I believe it was here on early arfcom. Time frame would be around 2004? |

So no, no and I would drop what I was doing and leave as I really don't care to invite the man into my life. I do my best to avoid any place with official signs- if they hate me then I hate them, and unless there are scanners, concealed means concealed- make of that what you will. *In SC you can't carry in a medical facility for some retarded reason (democrats and RINOs) without their consent; my previous dentist was a family friend, hunter (large collection of very expensive European shotguns), shooter, etc. The guy who took over for him probably wouldn't care but I haven't asked and just leave it locked in the truck. My regular doctor hunts and fishing, has known me for better than twenty years and doesn't care. |

Carrying openly, several times about 35+ years ago, before we got our CCW law. Oddly enough, every business that asked me to leave for carrying openly went out of business or got bought out. 2. Have you ever been asked to leave or remove a concealed firearm from a friend or family members home because of their beliefs. No, because my friends are likely carrying as well, and damn near every family member is dead. Problem solved. 3. How did you respond in each situation. When dinged for carrying OPENLY, I smiled, nodded, and exited the area. I never got snarky, confrontational, nothing - the law was squarely on their side. I've never had anyone try to throw me out for carrying concealed, so I'll wait until that happens and report back. thanks mac |
