Ha ha, I thought that said "pounds" I wondered what mess you were going to get into that required pounds of ammo-
God forbid you ever have to use a pistol, you are pretty unlikely to need to fire more than a few rounds. Chuck Taylor had a quote along the lines if you are firing a lot of rounds in a pistol fight, you're missing. I have two .45's and no .40's-but really whichever you think you are more likely to be able to hit something with under pressure is the way to go. |

get you a HK and have 10 rounds of .45 and 10 rounds of .40

I currently carry 6 in a wheelgun, so I'd be comfortable with either one.

I prefer the 10 rounds of .40S&W. Also the .40 has better penetration in many cases.

I got rid of my 40S&W and 357SiG, so I guess that answered the question.
I chose the 45acp over the 40S&W for a few reasons. The 45acp is a gentle round to shoot. 45acp is less expensive than 40S&W. In a SHTF scenario, 45acp will probably be more available. I already had many 45acp revolvers. 45acp is a more forgiving caliber in reloads. 45acp can be loaded down to plinking levels or up to hairy chested, reach out and touch someone. The same reasons applied to the 357SiG compared to the 357MAG. |

also on ammoman.com he has a 1000 rounds of .45 fiocchi for 219 and 1000 rounds of .40 fiocchi for 195.. less expensive

Not crazy at all. Thats what my wife uses. Just isnt for me. I dont want any holes in my body, whether they are .45, .40, or 9mm sized ones. Especially holes that are precisely placed.
