I've noticed a lot of Springfield's newer stuff is made in Brazil (A national tragedy, given the history of [at least the name] Springfield Armory) but do they still make any of their Loaded models and non TRP stuff in the U.S.?  I'm trying to figure out if I can get the Loaded-Combat Black Stainless I'm looking for as an American made model...

I've got one from Brazil, and would not part with it. No problems at all after about 9 yrs or so. I carry it on uniformed duty and trust it with my life.

if it's marked "NM" at the start of the serial #, more than 50% (i think) of it was assembled in the US.
the frames and parts are still made in Brazil.
Imbel makes the parts for Springfield

My TRP, EMP & 9mm Loaded all have the NM marking.

All I will buy at this point in time are the NM ones.  Even on those they are still forged in Brazil.  But just looking at the NM and N pistols on the shelf, there is a difference.  I believe the final machining and fit and finish are done in the US on the NM ones.  You can still find Loaded NM's out there, there just hardere to find than the Brazilion ones.

Thanks for the heads up, guys.  I'll hunt out a NM serial... too bad about the whole Brazil thing, IMO... Springfield used to epitomize American firearms.

Imbel is good, if they were to outsource anywhere I'm glad it's with them.

I personally  prefer the older Brazilian-made guns.  I have 2 of the loaded models made in Brazil and the quality is excellent.  Far better than what I see on the dealer shelves today.
