I found a really good deal on an HSGI drop leg holster for a G-20 or G-21. I had to order it my question is will a G-19 fit in an HSGI drop leg or thigh holster without flopping around.
I really like this holster but haven't been able to find one for a G-19. Please post pics. if you have one of these HSGI holsters or hell post pictures of whatever kind of thigh holster you guys use. I'm looking for options also. I really hope the HSGI works out though.

Personally, I don't think you can find a better drop-leg holster than the Safariland 6004/6005. The only difference between the two is the QR buckle on the leg strap of the 6005, as shown on mine below. Once you put it on, the holster almost feels like it's been glued to your leg, it stays so still. Drawing the gun can be done with lightning speed, with a minimum of practice. They come with a hood that fits over the weapon retaining strap that keeps the leg strap from interfering with drawing the gun, as well as (presumably) to help prevent take-aways. I trimmed the hood back on mine to the point where all it does is hold the leg strap away from the thumb release, "take-aways" not being a concern. The only drawback to this holster that I have experienced is that when it's worn in hot weather, your leg tends to sweat underneath it.

whats the retail pricce on the safariland,? that looks sweet! i got a glock 17 with no holster to call home...

I paid $110 for my 6004. I didn't want a drop leg holster, and I especially didn't want the 6004 (Damn uber SWAT storm trooper looking thing) but I finally got one and I love it.
Zardoz Do you know if the sell the detachable buckle/strap separately? ETA: Yes they do, now I just have to find one for sale. |

If the holster is made for the G21... your G19 will flop around. I had a similar type holster for my G17 a while back and my G19 flops and it's hard to get to. The G19 is not your ideal full-size handgun, that may be why it's hard to find a drop-leg for it... since most of those are designed for full-size pistol.
Try the Safariland 6004... I think they make it for the G19 but it's probably going to be a special order item... most dealers I know only carry the 6004/5 for full-size pistol only. Good luck. ~nb |

The Holster for the G17 also fits the G19, it's just a bit long, but G19 is listed on the packaging.

The G19 will flop around in the G21 holster.
Like MudBug said, you can get a 6004 for a G17 and it will work just fine for the G19 as well. I have one for a light and one without a light and they work great for the G17-G19 with very little play when the G19 is holstered. |

I am issued a 6004 holseter for my duty Glock 22. But it will also fit the 17 and I have fit tested my wifes Glock 19 and it works perfectly without any tension adjustment. This also means the same holster will fit the Glock 31, 32, and 23.h.gif

I, too, have the Safariland 6004 for my G35 with M3 light. Our team was issued it, along with the drop leg triple mag pouch. I love it, however, I found that shortly after strapping it on, and moving around, the holster began to creep around to the front of my thigh. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as the front of the thigh is good place for it if ur clearing a building with narrow halls. Has anyone else experienced this movement?

HaZ, I experienced the forward movement and to correct it I removed the top leg strap and adjusted the holster so it rides up higher on my thigh. Seems to stay put now. |

can the 6004/6005 be attached also to the belt? or only to the leg?

There is a universal belt loop adapter that will attach directly to the belt. Here are the part numbers and descriptions: 6070UBL - Mid Ride Duty 6075UBL - Duty 1.5" Drop 6280UBL - Mid Ride Duty Classic Style (Safarilaminate with hex screws to secure belt), 2 1/4" Sam Browne Belt 6285UBL - Same as above with 1.5" drop |

I used a nylon drop leg in Iraq for a year and HATED IT, Chafing and "FLOPPY GUN SYNDROME"
I puchased the safariland and love the stability. The only problem is with the thumb break. It is gunna take some serious shooting/draw drill to get used to. I just wish that you could use a duty style rig with a Chest rig/vest  This is by far the Mmost comfortable and quickest IMHO |
