So I'm looking at getting one of the 92 Compacts in the near future here with the M9A1 frame, is it possible to park a full sized slide on top of that and have it function?

I've never tried firing my Centurian with a full sized slide attached, but it will slide on and function by hand. There will be an unsightly gap at the front of the dust cover though because the compact pistols have a shorter dust cover.

I've put about 5-600 rounds through my Compact/Vertec slide combo. Works fine. Some will advise not to. I never had any issues. I actually like the Compact slide better as far as the recoil impulse and sight tracking. The only thing the Vertec slide had going for it was the dovetailed front sight.
