| I'm looking for a new ccw carry. I like the feel and size of the taurus pt145. I have heard some conflicting reports about it so I'll skip that one. Is there any model similar but reliable too. I've tried the Glock 30 and although it's well made it does not fit my hand well at all. Any thoughts? |
| I believe it was, it was brand new. I shot a Glock .45 a couple of years ago. I don't know if it's the same or not. It was small and had the single stack mag. and it was pretty spanky. Neither fit my hand very well. I actually have a 1911 compact but it's quite heavy. I'm looking to step up from 9mm as my "regular" carry. I sometimes carry the 1911 but it's a chunk. |
I had a P40 that I traded to Vanilla Gorilla. I never had a single malfunction out of it and to my knowledge neither has he. |
That is an insanely beautiful weapon! |
You say that like it's a bad thing. ![]() Try shooting hundreds of rounds of .45 through a short, snappy compact platform on a constant basis with the steel weapon and a plastic/titanium one (since your CCW is your most fired weapon at the range, or SHOULD BE). Weight of a compact 1911 is much easier to get used to than controlling the caliber in superlight platforms in defensive situations. |
YMMV, but when I found out what a excellent condition CM was going for I "stopped" toting mine returned it to the gun-safe and replaced it with a G30 - which is a dang site easier to replace than a $1200 antique no longer made by Detonics..... mike |
I like that. I would love it if they would put an extended beaver tail on it! Heck, on all their 1911s. |
