I found a place selling sealed M9 magazines, NSN 1005012044376 for less than $10. Does anyone know f these GI units would be Beretta magazines or the crappy Checkmates? If they are Checkmates, can they be economically upgraded? I believe them to be the latest stock.

Thanks!

Checkmates aren't crap. Unless they're older and you're planning on rolling around in your kid's sandbox before you go shoot. If they're the latest stock, no worries.

+1.  Never had a problem with them for range use.  Check the manufacturing date.  I have some of the new issue (12/04 I think) that are moly coated instead of parkerized, and they also have stronger springs and alloy followers.

I have both old and new checkmate mags.  If you oil them and scrub them with a plastic cleaning brush, it knocks off some of that rough finish and has made all of mine 100% reliable.  I have around 15 of them, 4 or 5 old, the rest new...

+1

In TN, I haven't had the first problem with mine in IPSC or IDPA, etc.

Okay, found them on that website when I searched the word "magazine".  They are 9.45 each, but no manufacture is listed or even the capacity?   Also listed are M16 mags for 12.24 each.

Does anyone know about this vendor?

FWIW, I used my Checkmate mags almost exclusively at the IPSC match yesterday & I didn't have a SINGLE hiccup, not one!

I think I paid $15 for these at a gunshow a year or two ago, right after the AW Ban died.
