If you bought a cheap SP01 Phantom HERE, welcome to the spend more money to upgrade your gun thread.

If you're new to CZ's, welcome. If you know what you're doing your insight is appreciated.

Mine actually has a very clean trigger break. Not the lightest but pretty damn nice. I dont remember my SP-01 having as clean of a trigger but its been almost 10 years since I got it.

I plan on putting a threaded barrel and suppressor height sights on mine. The SP-01 barrels are not advertised as working in the Phantom but apparently they will fit and work with minimal if any fitting.

CZ has 3 different suppressor height sights on their webstore for the 75 line but I can't tell what the difference is.

Luckier than me. Did get a $50 off coupon for my trouble. Bought a P-07 suppressor ready with night sights for $402. I don't think I got screwed but you got a sweet deal.

Well I missed out, I was just looking for deals on this gun....too slow.

Anyone come across any other deals? I have a P-07, really like it, working on smoothing out the trigger. New to world of CZ's, how is trigger on Phantom and where is best place for upgrade parts?
Any advise for new CZ owner??
Thanks
Huck

Cajun gun works and cz custom are the 2 top providers of cz upgrade parts. They have package deals to include all you need to upgrade or you can send them your gun and have them do the work. Check youtube for videos on install and breakdown of parts, where to polish and how.

I would almost like of of these to mill out for an SRO

I shot the Phantom tonight, the sights were right on and the 72rds were malfunction free.

The recurve trigger is shite. It has to go. The FPB lifter and deep hammer hooks are manageable, but I think I'll replace the springs for sure. I have an 85c hammer, various weights of hammer and recoil springs, and some reduced power trigger springs. I just need to order a Phantom specific trigger pin before messing with the gun.

On a Phantom slide I fit to a steel frame, the sights were replaced with Shadow Orange serrated defender style sights.

You can only find these sights in Europe.

You'll need a 5.5mm tall fiber optic front sight and the defender 8.3mm rear sight for the CZ 75 series.

I recommend using https://www.cz-spare.parts/. Other European shops show the correct rear sight part number but only ship the shadow cut sight (doesn't fit the CZ75 dovetail). This site automatically lists insane shipping costs, but send them a message and they will direct you how to add the correct shipping cost into the cart.

You have the option of dot or no dot sights. I prefer no dot, serrated style. Thus, serrated is in the link below. If you want dot style, buy the correct 8.3mm height rear sight...

21€ Rear sight: https://www.cz-spare.parts/rear-sight-defender-grooved-8-3-mm

13€ Fiber optic front sight: https://www.cz-spare.parts/front-sight-fiber-optics-1-5-mm-x-5-5-mm-for-shadow

For about €35 (~$38 USD) plus shipping, you get CZ factory competition style sights. Find a better deal anywhere in the USA...

I currently have reset issues with the gun below, but this sight combination is correct, works great, and the gun shoots like a laser (when it works...).

Will I be able to order those sights from that website? You said you can only find them in Europe but wasn't sure if they would ship here.

I looked but didn't see any options to ship to the US.

Thanks!!!

Done, lets see what they say.

I think I am going to buy the Cajun gun works Pro upgrade kit and these sights for now.

I suggest picking up a new front sight pin ($2) from CGW when you're placing your order with them.

THIS little guy?

Sorry for all the questions, this is my first CZ.

Have been really wanting a Shadow for a while but this should let me test the waters.

Yes. That is it. Buy 2 just in case.

Buy this also. https://cajungunworks.com/product/inst-dc-dcer-install-kit/

You'll need a good set of punches. 2mm for the front sight and 1/16" is extremely helpful too.

There is also a specific drill bit to drill the front sight for the pin. It isn't a full circular hole you're making in the sight, just a notch. If you have files you can do it that way, but drilling is easier. I believe if you drill from the left side of the gun, then the bit will not push the sight out of the dovetail.

I popped out the mainspring retaining pin (which you also have to remove to swap backstraps) and swapped the mainspring with a CGW blue 13# hammer spring. I also swapped the trigger return spring with a CGW reduced power trigger return spring.

In stock form: DA >8#, half-cock > 8#, SA 4.5#.
CGW 13# hammer spring only: DA > 8#, half-cock no data, SA 4#.
CGW 13# hammer spring & CGW reduced power trigger return spring: DA 8#, half-cock 6.5#, SA 3.5#.

I tried swapping the horrible recurve trigger with an 85c trigger and couldn't figure out why the trigger pin wouldn't install... The pin is 2.5mm. All steel frame CZ's use a 2mm trigger pin and the 85c trigger pivot holes are 2mm also. I'll have to open up the holes. I'll use a thick 97 trigger.

The trigger return spring and trigger are able to be swapped without removing the sear cage or trigger bar, but it's more complicated and requires some extra finesse.

After dry firing with the new mainspring and trigger return spring, I'm happy where it's at. I have an extra CZ UB 0.0 disconnecter that I'll fit to the gun, and I'll add the 97 trigger too. Once I get night sights, I'll put those on and call it good. Maybe I'll buy the RC Tech spring kit or the MCarbo spring kit to see how the springs compare to CGW.

One interesting thing I noticed is that the internal parts are extremely smooth. They look nothing like steel 75 internal parts. I was planning on polishing the action, but it looks great as is.

I ordered the MCarbo kit, a CZ competition modified decock hammer, and the canik/phantom 2.5mm floating trigger pin.

I also rounded and polished the hammer strut. The decock specific comp hammer drops in (you still have to drive out pins), no fitting needed. I'm using the CZ UB 0.0 Shadow disconnecter also. I swapped out the CGW trigger return spring for the MCarbo and swapped the blue 13# mainspring with the MCarbo.

I now have a crisp 2.25# SA pull and a > 8# DA pull.

Swapping back in the CGW 13# spring did not change anything. I think the trigger return spring may be heavier on the MCarbo than the CGW, I can't think of anything else that would increase the DA weight - especially after polishing the strut and adding the comp hammer... The disconnecter is just on the edge of unsafe SA, so it'll have to be fit more. The CGW spring will go back in when I fit the disconnecter.

I wish I would have seen this thread when the guns were available for $290. I want to get another Phantom and have the grip cut down to take compact mags. Damn!
