I have a Crossbreed holster for my Compact Baby Desert Eagle. Very comfortable! Out of the box, it isn't very pretty... but what the heck, it is "concealed," isn't it? It isn't like you are dating an exceptionally ugly woman, is it? I LIKE this holster! It is tuckable, and the Chicago screws supplied with it make it adjustable. Pros: Comfortable right out of the box. Adjustable for cant and height above/below the beltline. Cons: I have to put on/take off my gun frequently, as I go to and from places where it's illegal to carry (I work at a university, go to WalMart, etc). Can be a little troublesome to remove the holster in a parking lot. SOOO... I have a belt clip system for my 1911 which I use when I'm going to work or Wally World. Or the airport. Or.... The belt clip is surprisingly comfortable. Cons: In New Mexico, you leave your gun in your car overnight, it is COLDER THAN BEAR SH*T!! Any one else want to post their preferences? |

I have found that at least 2 other guns (probably more) sort of emulate my gun's shape. My 9mm is a CZ-075 knockoff... also, I have a belt slide holster for a Springfield XD-40 that fits very well. If you have trouble finding an exact fit, try looking for a gun that is a close fit. The Crossbreed guy thanked me for pointing out the slight difference between the XD-40 and my gun; essentially, one has a 5 degree forward cant to the front of the trigger guard, and the other has no cant (it is 90 degrees to the bore of the barrel). From this he could make a workable holster. |

MILT SPARKS!! I just got my permit TODAY and I'm sitting here thinking how much I love this holster. I got the watch 6 though, it's the same as the versa max, but it has no reinforcement around the opening. It holds the pistol so close to your side it's almost uncomfortable, I can conceal it EASILY in a t-shirt. And I'm skinny, like Africa skinny. |

What about in sticky hot FL? |

That's why I like my Crossbreed holster. The leather is next to the skin, and the Kydex holds the gun in place. |

I was gonna say exactly what ^ Schulze ^ said..; the least costly way is just put the pistol away securely & leave the holster on. (About your question; I personally do alot of R/F Pocket in a pocket holster carry.) I tend to carry a smaller handgun though... The one's I recommend are: www.palehorseholsters.com & variuous one's by RJ Hedley Tell them (erh) said hello. Eric Howland Savannah, GA. |

Primary: IWB, Milt Sparks VM-2. Secondary: Comp-Tac Paddle (A good paddle holster is useful when you need to enter a serious no-guns zone... such as some workplaces, where you may or may not get fired if someone spots a holster). Future: Alessi Ankle Glove for a back-up gun (which will be set up for my weak hand - after all, it is a backup gun, which implies that I'm already in trouble if I'm going for it). Future: Comp-Tac CTAC as an alternate to the VM-2 (experimenting). Future: Cross-draw paddle holster, specifically intended for use while driving. Getting to a strong side IWB under a coat under a seat belt is, well... not going to win any speed competitions. |

1911 with clip draw. I've tried holsters, but always come back to the good old clip draw. BTW: 3 O'clock, with two mags in a uncle mikes kydex paddle at 8 O'clock, if I feel the need for a back up, it is either a S&W 642 in my inbourd left sock (no funky ankle holsters for me!), on my other 1911 with clip draw at about 10 O'clock, cross draw.

| All you guys talk about how great the Sparks VM-II is but I just got mine for my HI-Power and don't think it is comfortable at all. I am trying to wear it with a untucked t-shirt and jeans. It feels like it rubs my side and is heavy and bulky. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I tried moving it all around, but not much better. |
Are you using an appropriate belt with it? |
If getting to your weapon fast while driving is that important to you, have you looked into the "Wilderness Safepacker" attached to your seatbelt? If you are comfortable leaving weapons in your car, you can even keep on there 24/7, never removing your carry weapon from your hip. |
Read my post above yours Call J.B. at Comptac at 281-209-3040 and he'll help you out. I GUARANTEE that you will not find customer service as good as theirs. |
As someone else mentioned, you need to have a solid belt to wear with your holster. Oddly enough, I wear a Milt Sparks belt with my VMII. Think of the belt as the foundation for concealed carry. I wear my VMII almost everyday, but I wear a tee shirt under an aloha style shirt mostly when it comes to CCW out of work. Here's the kind of shirt I'm talking about: www.altrec.com/shop/detail/24565/TNF/ My holster goes on at 3 o'clock and after a while I tend to forget I have it on. It doesn't rub, poke, drag or print. The wide spread of the belt loops keeps it from shifting. Mine is five years old and it's the one holster I recommend to everyone. |

SideArmor kydex IWB holster. I have one for my 1911 and my XD. I don't notice its even there unless I sit in a hardbacked chair or something. Have carried wearing just shorts and a T-shirt, and its completely concealed. Carrying anything IWB, I usually wear an undershirt to keep the holster and firearm seperated from my bare skin. |
| I guess I am a little old school because been carrying the same Star PD .45 in the same Milt Sparks Summer Special for 20 years now. I have a couple dozen guns in all, but this will probably continue to be my primary CCW for the rest of my days. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. |

I voted for 1 2 4 5 I use a Fobus outside waistband mostly off duty. I also carry in a fanny pack sometimes. I have carried in an ankle holster but not often off duty. (Always on duty) I have a couple holsters that are inside the waistband and have used them but not often. I do not have any Thunderware. (I did not know you could vote for more than one like that) |
