Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - what calibers available

Help I have a colt ar 15 in 223.  Can not legaly hunting with 22 calibers in my state.  What rifle calibers are available that would be good for deer.  The 7.62 is not a caliber I would like due to lack of range.  What options do I have.

Sell the AR and buy a real hunting rifle. The AR is just a poodle shooter. If you like the AR style, you could buy an Armalite in .308.
