Floor pan should not have holes or "Flintstone Breaks".
No serious dents, dings and paint condition OK with some fading
Running well but stock is ok

69 is a good year.

Unless you get lucky expect to spend lots of money fixing a bunch of little things.  That is if its a daily driver.  And check over the radiator and water pump real good.  If those need to be replaced good luck finding parts.  No one has them in stock.

You should be able to get a decent (but not perfect) running '69 Bug for $2200.00 depending on the area you live in. Is this car going to be a daily driver? And finally, do you like adjusting solid lifters once in awhile?
ETA: That's some funny shit about the radiator and water pump! Hey, where can I get a thermostat for mine?

BE SURE TO CHECK THE HEATER CORE FOR ANTI-FREEZE LEAKS!!!

My favorite thing about Volkswagon Beetles is the fact that they are the NASTIEST emmission, gas spewing, "Carbon Footprint", vehicles left on the road. One VW beetle spews more crap into the air than 20 new vehicles combined, and the hippies loved them! <idiots>

Buy a POS.
Drive it to Mexico and swap VINs.
Come back with a 1995 VW Bug.

Seen it done many a time.

Fair-Good cond. Besure to look under the battery under the backseat for rust.

Check the shock absorber towers on th front axle, the are only shhet metal and they tend to rust. If it rusts you could bend the torsion bar tube (expensive to replace)

I used to love those cars, I would never get another unless it was a dune buggy.

Also make sure it has the cover for the battery. If you've got any fat friends that sit in the back the seat will catch on fire

I'll sell her a 92 Grand Marquis for half that price, and this car will get her 3 or 4 times further down the road.

It has a good water pump, too, and parts are easy to find.

[That post was pretty funny.]

VW Bugs of that time period are air cooled, with rear mounted
engines.  The trunk is up front, and those things were a blast to drive.

Junebug....they really do have a thermostat. It controls an air intake band that warms the motor up faster.  It sounds stupid but make sure it's really a convertible. I've seen chopped sedans and the body doesn't have the same support. Check out the heater ducts, they use the exhaust heat to heat the cabin. Decent mileage, funny smells (exhaust, seats, etc) but a sound like no other motor.
