what kind of targets do you use? as a hi power competitor i use nra approved bullseye targets. at my club we have very strict rules about our targets no plinking is allowed and no steel plates etc.  we also discourage the use of human silhouette targets and if someone wishes to use one he has to take it down and place it in the trash when he is ready to leave. just wondering what most of you use.

I usually just use bullseye paper targets. Sounds like your club is pretty uptight though. Seems that if your practicing self defense handgun shooting, human silouettes are what you should use. I don't care what people shoot at as long as its safe and they clean up after themselves. Nothing wrong with people just having fun.

Silhouette targets, water filled milk jugs/2 liter bottles/laundry detergent containers(I'm partial to TIDE, they are orange), aluminum cans, 12 ga. hulls (w/scope of course) inflated ballons taped to plywood, etc. etc.

Have also used:

25" console TV

30 gallon water heater at 300 yards

empty beer keg

full cans of old hot beer (shaken not stirred)

I've used a lot of different things, some as intersting as above, but my targets of choice when practicing are PD issue human silhouette targets and bowling pins.

The pins are small and challenging to knock a string of them down quickly.  Builds speed and accuracy at the same time, but can get frustrating if you try to rush it too much!

I've been on a run of failed electronics lately. Computer monitor, 2 VCRs, TV, and the remotes present a nice challage.

cans, milk jugs filled w/ water. human made from plywood. we have an old trailer house we sleep in out at our range/fishin pond/paintball feild/ one day were gonna shoot it up and build a new one. that could be really fun with some silhouette targets.
