anyone got any pointers on making this stuff?  I've read some recipes and the biggest stumbling block I guess is the starter.  how do you guys make it?

az.  hu.  real sour dough is natural.
you leave it on the back porch and live yeasts land on it and sour it.
as is bread is hard to make.  but SD is one of hte hardest.  i don't think you can make in it AZ because the weather is to dry.
i would buy a bread machine and play with it.  when you can make a consistant white bread you can start playing with SD.

I know back when the ex was around I learned about the starter. Some folks been using, sharing, & passing around the same starter cultur since the 49 er's gold rush days. I would google it & see if someone will share their starter with you.

S.D. bread with good deli cheese makes the very best grilled cheese sandwich's I ever had.
