Check the chamber, feed ramp and mag springs. These are more likely your problem. If this doesn't solve your problem, it may be recoil spring. I have a sig 229 too. First time out with it I have a bunch of this type of failure. I realized I was limp wristing and no probs since. In all the rounds I've put through since then only one failure. Once again I was limp wristing. Check your technique too!
