Willing to bet death would result from massive blunt force trauma.. Just because it doesn't pass through doesn't mean you live. Pericardial tamponade is a real bitch.

From that back face deformation I pretty sure you would be incapcitated even with a level 3a vest behind the plate. Perhaps not dead but your ribs are broke, organs bruised, maybe even heart stopped from the impact.

So, If that was on your chest you would have had about 6 ribs broken? Ouch, but not dead.

Maybe. Is there a documented instance of armor stopping a round and the wearer dying of the blunt trauma, though?

Fuck that place.

Every documentary on any subject saves Papua, New Guinea for the most shocking.

"And #1 on our list.  If you want to see something REALLY fucked up, we have to go to Papua, New Guinea."

Never ever thought I would say this but.......I came here to post that pic.

So, guessing the Lapua misspelling jokes are already in full swing??

Even thought the round didn't make it all the way through, I bet that shot would feel like lying on the ground and letting someone take a half swing to your chest with a 6-8lbs sledge.

Let's see what would you be left with after a concussive blow of that nature?

Broken sternum? Multiple rib fractures? 30min to gather your thoughts on how fucking lucky you are to be able to still breath?.....after you catch the wind that was knocked out of you of course.

Damn, just damn.

Has there been a documented case of someone wearing that level plate and taking a direct hit from a round comprable to a .338 or larger at or around 100 yards

I'd bet good money that you wouldn't live through that much trauma to the vital area, plate or no plate.

Try again with the Barnes 250 gr solid brass rounds.

I'd be okay after taking a shot like that since resulting impact would cause me to dispel any energy imparted into my body by the bullet impact by shitting myself.

This is now a poop thread.

Geco45 was the last guy to ask that
I'm not really sure that it'll work out so well and I certainly wouldn't be the guy who tried it out.
