I was in the parking lot getting ready for duty and i was checking my gear like i always do.  Well my glock 22 wouldnt come out of the holster, a safariland ALS, bought new two months ago.  We had to complety tear down the holster to get the gun out.  I will be calling safariland asap.

What was the reason for the snag, if you were able to figure it out?  This is sort of unsettling.  Was it the thumb button that was causing the issues?

It was the thumb break that was snagging up.  Ive never seen it happen in the three years we've been using this holster.

Was the malfunction in the internal locking system or the pivot (thumb break)?

No debris was in the holster.  The hood rotated fine, the thumb release is what snagged up.

My department has been issuing that type of holster to the new recruits.  They are issued a glock 22C.  I have been carrying a Sig P220 and a Safariland level 1 holster.  I would be interested if you find out what the problem is so I could pass along the information.

K9 on a training track had debris jam the thumblock system and it required flashlight knives and plyers to free the pistol.
Courthouse had a dime fall into a holster and prevent reholstering.
Great holster just carry a back up gun.
