Tim Burton's newest film (yeah, I know some may not like him OR Johnny Depp) is the Corpse Bride, a stop animation film, like claymation, but without the clay.  The characters are built on stainless steel armatures and covered with silicon "costumes".  It looks like CGI they say, but isn't.  Painstakingly shot frame by frame with .....

A Canon 1d Mark II Digital SLR (and Nikon glass via an adaptor) using Apple's Final Cut Pro.

Stop motion animation has got to be the toughest, most time consuming way to make what usually turns out to be a lame, corny film.
