What kind of running requirements do police departments have for running the mile or 2 mile? I am looking for what kind of mile time is considered good or bad, thanks.

It varies from State to State, and department to department.  Here in KY, we now have a MINIMUM state requirement of 17 minutes, 12 seconds, for 1.5 miles.  Each department can require a better time, but that is the min.  Here is a link to the rest of the tests (POPS).  Remember, this is for KY only:

You will need Acrobat reader from Adobe to view it.  The main web site is:

This is my first time posting a link, so if its messed up, you know why.

I work in Indiana and our city has the same run requirements.  It is the Cooper Institute Standards, I think.  Not a problem if you are in any kind of physical shape.

Don't ask me, I just work here.  The test in KY that fails the most people is the 300M and the jump.  Good luck.
