mountaingear.com has always treated me well for my mountaineering and climbing gear when I worked as a mountain guide. If you are only doing rappelling and not climbing stick with a static rope, this gives you less elongation and lasts longer than a dynamic rope for rapels. let me know if you have any specific questions. idaho-ar15

REI is a great company, but not very price friendly. Campmoor is much better in my estimation! FWIW: I'm both a climber and a caver, so I have a little bit of knowledge in this area...
