Metallica was cool? another thread had the link for their song "One" in it and made me think... i remember when they were cool. bad asses. the last time i went to their concert, they didnt even play "One" during the concert. Godsmack was up before them, and put on a WAY better show. I got in trouble in 5th grade for wearing my Metallica shirt to school- it had a dagger sticking out of a toilet and said "Metal up your ass" on it. I grew up on Metallica. now, they put out St. Anger, and their DVD "some kind of monster" just shows them being a bunch of whiny ass pussies. When Metallica stopped putting out real music, white kids started listening to rap. This caused the country to go to shit.

the St. Anger video where they are performing in prison did always get me pumped up, but in their "Some kind of monster" DVD they have some fucking 67 year old guy giving them his opinion on whether or not he thinks the songs they were putting on the St. Anger album was good. WTF does a old guy know about metal, and what songs 19 year old kids want to hear? St. Anger |

It's not like they haven't done anything noteworthy since their only talented member was crushed under a bus in a horrible accident. That whole episode where Lars and his girlfriend Kirk took pictures while they are French Kissing was something pretty special, if you ask me. It really helped introduce them into a larger share with the whole MTV/sexually-confused tween market. That was hardcore. |
