I have 2 propane tanks for my gas grill. I like to keep a spare full so I don't have to worry about running out of propane while grilling and having to run out and refill it.

The spare is old and doesn't hold pressure anymore, so I need a new tank. Several places around here take trade-ins... trade in your old empty tank for a new full one. Problem is, my spare tank if full of propane, it just doesn't have pressure. Is there any way to recover the propane in it? Propane runs around $2.25/gallon around here so I'd prefer not to trade in a full tank.

Or I suppose I could take it out and fill it full of lead. [;)]

Not just lead...how about tracers?  Or, cover it with explosive targets before you shoot.  Just sit back and feel the warmth on your face.  [}:D]

stimpy, you may be right about the valve being bad. I did hear a pop and a pissing sound though and when I checked it there was no pressure. I KNOW it's not full of water though because I had just watched the guy fill it a day before that. Tank's old and rusty so they may not take it.
