Going to a friend's to replace her flapper valve. Diagnosed it over the phone. Constantly refilling toilet. I asked her to describe the flapper to me, and she said it's a pedestal with a metal bar connecting to the flush handle. No chain.

I'll admit, I haven't seen one of these. All the ones in my house are the chain type. Google at home Depot only showed chain types. Is there a different type or is she describing it wrong?

If she's describing it right, are they standard sizing or something different?

Could be one of these.  Not shown in the pic is the lever and bar that goes over to the valve and lifts it off the seal.

Have learned the hard way to pull the part I'm replacing and carry it with me to the Home Depot to find a replacement.

I like to make only one trip to HD at a time.  Especially on a Saturday.
