Hasn't Utah been in court with the federal government over getting half of their state back from the Feds for a while now? I don't know but I have heard California has threatened to take the redwood forest and Yosemite several times. Now is the chance the parks are closed just pass a law that says close them until Monday they belong to us. heck then send sheriffs or nat guard to enforce the law. Get the feds out ND THE STATES WILL DO IT BETTER. |

Because the states are big welfare babies now. The fed will just cut the flow of cheddar and the states will bend. |

Airoona wants ro open the grand canyon
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/04/ariz-gov-rejected-in-offer-to-reopen-grand-canyon/ fight to reopen Grand Canyon Published October 04, 2013 FoxNews.com Facebook150 Twitter254 LinkedIn0 grandcanyonstory12.jpg Oct. 1, 2013: Sebastian Ramirez, 27, of Austin, Texas, hikes out of the Bright Angel Trail in Grand Canyon National Park.AP With the partial suspension of U.S. government services showing no signs of ending, tourists will continue to be turned away from the Grand Canyon, despite a push by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and local businesses to reopen the state's signature national park. Brewer wants the iconic park reopened and has offered to pay for it with state money, but her proposal was rejected Thursday by a park official who said that as long as the federal government remains shut down, such a plan isn't an option. |

Why stop with the parks. How about the states read the 10th amendment and then politely tell the Feds to FUCK OFF.
We have 31 Republican run states, if they would all ban together, protect their citizens from the Feds, we could take this country back. Oh yeah Mr. President, seeing how we are a sovereign state, we will be engaging in some drilling too. |

Can we hunt in National Parks now? you could always hunt fish in them, National Parks usually allow for fishing but not hunting. National Forests allow hunting. The States should take over. The should get the revenue and man them. In Tennessee, the TWRA (Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency) has more than enough manpower along with the State Parks to take care of the National Forests. |

The folks in DC are scared to death that the population is going to realize that the Federal Government is largely unneeded. |

They should… I see no constitutional justification for the massive confiscation of state property by the federal government. Not that the land shouldn’t be preserved and managed… it should just be done by the states. Unless, of course you want to amend the constitution to say otherwise. |

South Dakota attempted to staff Mt Rushmore with state employees but was told to politely STFU and go away. The reasoning was it was a National Monument and could not be turned over to the state for any reason. Maybe this shutdown will last awhile and the states can finally grow a pair. |

The reasoning was it was a National Monument and could not be turned over to the state for any reason. Don't get me started I used to love Rushmore then they ruined it. Now in order to go you have to park at the garage to park you have to pay $11 parking fee it does not go to the state of SD it does not go to the FED to manage or run the park, it goes to a private company that built a parking garage at Rushmore. |

More of the Obama Regime's "making it hurt" deception:
The Pisgah Inn, a private hotel that holds a concession on the Blue Ridge Parkway, has become a national sensation as it defies “intimidation” and a National Park Service order to close its doors.
After a tumultuous few days, inn owner Bruce O’Connell told The Washington Times on Friday morning that he had just reopened his doors for customers, despite the park service telling him he had to shut down. He says he’s essentially private property, on a road that’s still open, and uses no government personnel, so he sees no reason to quit operating. “I’m questioning their authority to shut me,” Mr. O’Connell said...
